The Story Behind MXNY

MXNY was founded in 2021 by Christopher McCracon — a Bronx-born designer, creative director, and entrepreneur known creatively as Xhris Hayes. It started as a form of expression and an outlet for creativity coming out of the pandemic, and grew into a full streetwear label built on resilience, creativity, and self-determination — from working NYC Fashion Week shows to hosting his own show.

Every MXNY piece is upcycled from materials that already exist: deadstock and surplus fabric, thrifted garments taken apart and remade, and recycled-fiber textiles. Nothing is made new just to be worn once.

All production happens right here in New York City. The mission: recycled fabrics and upcycled custom garments that cut down the fashion industry's waste, one piece at a time.
